A floor is only as good as what's under it. We start with the subfloor — checking it's sound, flat and clean, and leveling or prepping where it isn't — because tile set over a bad base cracks and vinyl over a rough one shows every flaw. Then the layout: planning the runs and the tile pattern so the cuts fall in the right places and the lines carry cleanly from room to room instead of ending in an awkward sliver at a doorway.

Tile and porcelain get set with even spacing and full support so there's no lippage and no hollow spots, then grouted clean; vinyl and plank get laid tight and flat with proper transitions at every threshold. Marble-look tile floors like the ones in the photos of our own work are exactly this kind of job — a large, glossy floor where flat and level is the whole thing. However far the floor runs, it's laid to last and left clean.

Common questions

Do you install both tile and vinyl?

Yes — tile, porcelain and vinyl. They each suit different rooms and budgets, and when it's part of a remodel we'll talk through which makes sense where. What stays the same either way is the prep and a floor laid flat and level.

Can you lay new floor over what's already there?

Sometimes, and sometimes the old floor or a bad subfloor has to come up first — laying over a base that isn't sound just moves the problem into the new floor. We check the subfloor when we look at the space and tell you honestly what it needs.

Why does the subfloor prep matter?

Because it's what decides whether the floor lasts. Tile over an uneven or unsound base cracks and comes loose, and vinyl shows every bump underneath. Getting the base flat and solid first is half the job, and it's the half you never see once the floor is down.
